While looking over the RE/MAX website today I noticed that the Bank of America had their rates posted- they are still low! There is a mortgage calculator also so potential buyers can get an idea of what a payment will be based on the purchase price of a home. This is such a great idea and after playing around with this tool, I would encourage a buyer to visit their bank or financial institution and ask lots of questions and have them do a pre-qualification. So many times folks will see what a payment will be, however the taxes and insurance are not included which can make a substantial change in the payment depending where the property is located. I have had situations where clients come in and want to look at homes within a specific price range but when asked if they had considered taxes, insurance and in some cases private mortgage insurance they are disappointed that the price range of the home changes. Getting pre-qualified from a lender is generally pretty straight forward and with a call to the institution they can tell you what you will need to bring to get the process rolling. Most pre-qualifications are good for a number of months so it will give you time to look for that dream home! Please don't hesitate to call if you have any questions regarding anything relating to home ownership.. We are here to help you !
