Two days before Thanksgiving and most of us are looking forward to a great holiday feast and others of us are reminded that this means Christmas is just around the corner. This year I believe many families including mine are getting back to the basics of the holiday. I have taken the time to talk to each of my family members to find out that they feel the same as I do regarding the spending frenzy that we have all created. I was thrilled to find that ALL of our family members feel the same way. We are going to find ways of giving that don't include overspending on purchases or shipping. The gift of time is something wonderful to give to anyone. Plan a one on one with those important to you. Get a manuicure or pedicure, just go out for a lunch or coffee. You do not have to spend a lot of money on the people you care most about. It's not what is important to them. You are! Ask your loved ones, you might be surprised that they say the same thing. Some information I have gotten from my family is for the simple things. They want updated pictures of the family and notes from the kids, things that can be very inexpensive or even free. I can tell you that I am so thrilled that we have chosen to take the stress out of this important time and be thankful for what we have. Think about it, it may work for you too.
